Belated Wedding Upate

This of course is not our wedding! Although we did have our 4 year anniversary on Thursday. This update is for Chris Goble and Anne Viel. We went to the wedding in early July, in Waterton. It was a wonderful wedding of course and Chris looked awesome ;)

Oh yeah the bride looked pretty stellar as well. For the bachelor party we woke up early (the day of the wedding!) and headed out to climb bears hump. After that we did a quick decent, grabbed our kayaking gear and did a quick run down Cameron Creek. Then Chris goes "Oh I better go get in my Tux, the wedding is in 1 hr!" Man.... to be Chris and live.... Either he's brave or dumb. I'll let you decide.

Long story short, their married, it was beautiful and food was good. We were done by early evening and retired back to our accommodations, my brothers trailer that we borrowed that was parked at the back of Chris's cabin. Yeah I know, we were THOSE TRAILER PEOPLE! With the AC unit running as well! Heck we don't even have AC at home! It was pretty sweet, I think I foresee a trailer in our future someday...

We gave Logan a bath that night in his new camping tub! He liked it a lot ;)

The next day we took Logan and Denali for a hike to Summit Lake. It was sooooo hot, but the hike was mostly in the shade and we brought lot's of water. Afterwards we headed back to Cameron Lake for a quick dip. All in all, a pretty good trip.

Anyways, I thought it would be nice to post a few pic's from the wedding for all the friends who missed it.

Worlds Largest....

Having checked out a friends page in Facebook I became inspired!
Ever wonder where the world's largest replica of the leaning tower of Pisa is? Well now you can. Check them out here. Personally I'm nominating a few myself, like the Lethbridge wind gauge and the Hanna Goose (For my sis in carpool!).You can find more local roadside attractions for Canada here.
Personally I hoping to see the worlds largest Ukrainian Sausage on my next roadtrip!

Riding High

Well what are the odds that CP Rail can run an old steam train ride across the High Level Bridge without my brother finding out?
Not likely considering he's a train engineer (which is another story in itself). Regardless, we got tickets to ride across the famous Lethbridge landmark. Apparently it's 314ft above the water and 1.6km long. The largest bridge of it's design. We made it a family affair with a whole crew getting on board. Dora's family joined us, as did my train driving brothers family. Luckily he wasn't driving, as I'm sure he would have made it memorable for all the wrong reasons!

As we drove across the bridge it was neat to see how low the water was and to check out the kayakers floating down the river. I thought it would look higher, but having some climbing experience, it just didn't seem that high.
I guess that's what happens when you get stuck climbing on some rock face with a name like "Joy". It gives you a pretty good perspective on height when your looking at a 60ft whipper if you fall!
Regardless it was a pretty good family outing and Logan enjoyed chillin' with Grandpa!

Lost in the deep pit called "Home"

Well it's been like forever since our last posting. Schools out, summers here, heck we should have sooooo much time that it's just oozing out of us like sweat. Speaking of sweat look at this!?!
I think this is the 3rd straight week of 30+ weather!?! It's too freak'in hot here! Everyone seems to have air conditioning so I hate those people. Curse them and their perfectly climate controlled domains! Oh well, to my own domain, we finally got grass in our back yard and it is such an improvement. I know people talk about how homes are "money pits", but I'm more concerned about how they are "time pits". It takes forever to take care of a house. I wonder if anyone has done a study on how much time an owner of a house spends fixing/repairing their house vs. a renter. I think I could have walked to California, taken acting lessons, waitered for two years and become a famous actor like Brad Pitt in less time than what I've spent on my last two houses. Whatever, fame sucks!
