LOMAH - Land of Milk and Honey

Just living life here in the Promised Land, Southern Alberta. Where the Mountains meet the prairie in a stunning sunset, surrounded in fields of gold

Kayking - S Bend

An old picture, surfing the S Bend on the Red Deer River with Denali keeping a watchful eye. It was a perfect day, surrounded by perfect friends.

Family in Waterton

A summer hike with the family and Grandparents. It was a typical Waterton day with some wind and sun. Logan hiked the whole way in to Bertha Falls

Loves of my Life

The first two loves of my life together in one picture. I remember when they came into my life, making me whole.

Me in the Broken Group

I think this is my favourite picture from last year. We did a sea kayaking trip to the Broken Group and had 4 glorious days of sun. It was a capped off with the company of great friends.

Christmas Tree

Last weekend we went out to get our tree.  It's been a bear with regards to temperature and the -30 and lower temperatures have kept us inside for far too long.  I had to cancel the father/son ski trip that my cousin was preparing due to the cold.

So with the wind a blowin' we headed west to find a lull in the storm.  We found moderate temperatures and no wind around the Beaver Mines area.  With a sweet hill and a close trees we quickly cut down our tree and spent the rest of the time tobogganing.  We even helped a guy get his truck out of the ditch, dealt with a bloody nose and found beverage and sushi.  Quite a day!

Why Men make sense.

Well at least for me.

After what we decided was about 3 years, I had a lengthy talk with Mike Orr.  For about an hour.  Haven't talked in 3 years and I pick up the phone for an enjoyable conversation about here, there, what's new and what's coming.  I like that about Men.  Easy.

If you don't know, you can catch up with him at OceanCowboy.  He's doing great, and full of plans within plans.  You know, a Canadian version of Inception.

It was fun talking about old times, so I thought I would bring it back... old school.

That fish was good.

Waterton. The changing Landscape

We were lucky enough to get out to Waterton this past weekend.  It was exciting because they just reopened Cameron Lake Road.  We were excited to get out, but equally excited to see what had changed with the flooding.  Not to be disappointed, there were some obvious changes.

I never noticed this flow before.  Now... you can't miss it.

Some spots were more dramatic than other, but you could definitely see the differences.  The last pictures are around Lineham and the berm is quite obvious.

The road itself will need some paving as well and there is a section that is still single lane.  Regardless, it means people can get out to do some cross country skiing and snowshoeing this year.  I was a little jealous when I saw Tom MacLachlan. and John Verhagen out.

Instead, we made a snowman.  A sweet snowman!
