LOMAH - Land of Milk and Honey

Just living life here in the Promised Land, Southern Alberta. Where the Mountains meet the prairie in a stunning sunset, surrounded in fields of gold

Kayking - S Bend

An old picture, surfing the S Bend on the Red Deer River with Denali keeping a watchful eye. It was a perfect day, surrounded by perfect friends.

Family in Waterton

A summer hike with the family and Grandparents. It was a typical Waterton day with some wind and sun. Logan hiked the whole way in to Bertha Falls

Loves of my Life

The first two loves of my life together in one picture. I remember when they came into my life, making me whole.

Me in the Broken Group

I think this is my favourite picture from last year. We did a sea kayaking trip to the Broken Group and had 4 glorious days of sun. It was a capped off with the company of great friends.

November Blitz

Well, I got skunked in October.  No posts.  I am hoping to make the rest of November the best of the Year.

Here we go.

Bike Trip

For my birthday this year, my brother organized a bike trip to Fernie.  Other than a few crashes and wipeouts, the biggest concern was the improper use of the dreaded "fireball"

I've made a trailer showing a bit of the trip.

Zoo Trip

We did a quick day trip to the zoo this weekend.  We took our Niece as well and I think we all had a good time.
If your not tired of my trailer style videos, here is another.  I also included a picture slideshow.

Kindergarten

Today was Logans first day of Kindergarten.  I had so much fun making that movie trailer from the climbing day I decided to make one for his first day.  Kinda fun.

Labour Day Weekend

While this weekend usually signals the return to school for us, we managed to get out for the day to Waterton.  Usually we try to avoid Waterton on this date as it is beyond busy!  We did however find a spot free of tourists.  Pass Creek Slab.

We decided to take the boys out for their first climb on real rock.  The routes were 5.3 and 5.4.  Both boys did awesome, so awesome we made a home movie.   The trailers are much better than the movie, which is so often the case with Hollywood these days.

Withdrawal anyone?

So..... I've been a bad poster.  Been a few months?

If you've been suffering from withdrawal, I hope to post what we've done over the last few months in the next few days.  I will probably back date them to match up with when we did things.  The magic of the internet!  Soon I can undo my slacking.  If only the rest of my life was that easy.

Summer Trip Pt. I

As usual, we like to have a summer trip where we explore something. Over the past few years,2011 & 2010 we've ended up on the coast in Victoria. This year we thought we would try something different and finish a bit south of our usual spot. But, I've jumped ahead. Our first stop was Missoula, MT. Not sure why, but we seem to enjoy heading this direction. We hit our usual favourites, the Carousal and the Dragon park.

It's always fun down here for some reason.  I don't know if it's because we have low expectations, but we always manage to have fun.  After a day here, we headed to their water park and water slide park, Splash Montana.

After that, we headed to Coeur d'Alene.  But, that's part II.

Kyle, Saskatchewan

Dora's grandmother still lives in the homestead town of Kyle and we felt it was time to head back for a visit.  I don't think we made it out last year, so the trip was needed.  The nice thing about the trip is that the family has a cabin on Clearwater Lake, so we get some relaxation time as well.  The boys enjoyed a round of golf as well as some quality lake time.

Girls gone Wild

Well what do you get when you mix Dora with a few of her female friends and Vegas?  New Vocabulary words!  Hangry, Scritchin', and those are only the ones she told me about!!

Here are the pictures, the stories.... well, you'd have to talk to her.

Obon

This was a bit different this year.  Every year in July we head out to the cemetery to participate in a Buddhist service for the deceased.  This year we payed respect to our mother.  It was hard at times, but the kids helped me put things in perspective.  It still feels so fresh at times.

Here are a few pictures from the day.

Canada Day

As usual, we had everyone show up for Canada Day in Raymond.  The best part, besides the food and candy is the fact that we all cruise around in the back of a pickup truck.  That's how you know your still in a small town.

But mostly I like the 3 year olds out for a Sunday drive.

The Big 3

Evan turned the big 3 this year in June and we usually pawn his birthday off with a Canada Day BBQ at my Dads.  This year we happened to also do a little family thing at Montana's.  For those that know, they put this antler hat on you and sing a song.  Not too sure if Evan found it as amusing as we did.
