LOMAH - Land of Milk and Honey

Just living life here in the Promised Land, Southern Alberta. Where the Mountains meet the prairie in a stunning sunset, surrounded in fields of gold

Kayking - S Bend

An old picture, surfing the S Bend on the Red Deer River with Denali keeping a watchful eye. It was a perfect day, surrounded by perfect friends.

Family in Waterton

A summer hike with the family and Grandparents. It was a typical Waterton day with some wind and sun. Logan hiked the whole way in to Bertha Falls

Loves of my Life

The first two loves of my life together in one picture. I remember when they came into my life, making me whole.

Me in the Broken Group

I think this is my favourite picture from last year. We did a sea kayaking trip to the Broken Group and had 4 glorious days of sun. It was a capped off with the company of great friends.

Easter Fun

Over Easter, we headed North to good old Calgary to visit with Dora's brother and eat a little turkey. The deep fryer was resurrected for another delicious meal and Logan had a grand old time with one of his favorite uncles. While I stayed for a quick overnight to head back to work on my Masters, Dora stayed for a few days extra to give me some free time and to do a little shopping.

The week was nice with warm weather that cooled down towards the end of the week. Nothing like what you'll see above this post.

Will this weather ever cooperate?

It seems not that long ago I posted how it was plus 20 and then snowed the next day. Well I think today beats it! Not only did it snow, but Dora and I managed to get our first snow day this school year.... with some heavy snow and icy conditions we lucked out and spent the day at home with Logan. Not bad... not bad at all.

The real funny thing is that this has happened twice in the last week. All this snow disappeared and here it is again...

Dinner like the pros

So first off I must confess that I have a subscription to Hello Canada. For those of you who do not read the gossip magazines at the checkout, it is an intellectual version of those. I mean, it talks about Canadian events and royal families in addition to Bradgelina and Gwen Stefani. And it has recipes (and a crossword puzzle). Much classier than the average gossip rag. Anyway, in the recipe section, Mrs. Gordon Ramsey submitted this little gem.

It looked delicious in the picture and when I read through the ingredient list, I actually recognized most of them! Which is a big deal for me, so I thought why not. It took me 30 minutes to get everything together and then it takes 30 minutes to bake it. If you look closely, you'll see that mine looks pretty darn close to the "professional" version. I don't know what hers taste like, but mine was pretty dam good. Marko liked it and even Wonderboy ate it without much fuss - which is also a big deal because there was spinach in there. Mmmm, I can't wait to try this one again. Let me know if you want the recipe!

Captain Awesome and his wonderfriend

Marko ordered these shirts awhile ago. We got them just when I needed them most, the week of doctor ordered rest. But lucky for me I have superheros in my corner! And cute ones at that.

I'm a little larger than the last time I posted belly photos. I think I was about 28 weeks in this pic...some where around there. July is on its way - and we're all pretty excited.

Tax Time

Well that time of year is coming again and I am back to looking for something to do my taxes. In years past I used quicktax, under my father in laws purchase and last year I used Ufile. Both cost a few bucks, but this year I found this. Studiotax.
It's a free program and it did get a favourable review here. Since quicktax has changed it's # tax forms again, we can use it for free, but I think I will use both programs to see how they calculate my refund. I'll pass along the results later!
