Christmas Tree

Last weekend we went out to get our tree.  It's been a bear with regards to temperature and the -30 and lower temperatures have kept us inside for far too long.  I had to cancel the father/son ski trip that my cousin was preparing due to the cold. So with the wind a blowin' we headed west to find a lull in the storm.  We found moderate temperatures and no wind around the Beaver Mines area.  With a sweet hill and a close trees...

Why Men make sense.

Well at least for me. After what we decided was about 3 years, I had a lengthy talk with Mike Orr.  For about an hour.  Haven't talked in 3 years and I pick up the phone for an enjoyable conversation about here, there, what's new and what's coming.  I like that about Men.  Easy. If you don't know, you can catch up with him at OceanCowboy.  He's doing great, and full of plans within plans.  You know, a Canadian version...

I never noticed this flow before.  Now... you can't miss it. Some spots were more dramatic than other, but you could definitely see the differences....

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year we headed North to Cochrane where Stacie's brother now lives.  He's enjoying the quiet country living, or what passes for that around Calgary.  The fact is, it's much easier to get to and there is some nice walking near his home.  Much better than Calgary.  We enjoyed some quiet time and a nice walk. ...

Back

Hard to believe, but after a lengthy procrastination, I've decided to post again... if not for me, but my one or two faithful readers who actually used it to keep track of our family. I thought I would post of a recent event and then post about past events.  It'll be like a reverse year! We spend the Remembrance Weekend down in Montana with Family. Twelve of us in fact!  It started with us then paired up with my brother, unpaired and...

Old School Judo

So I decided to fight again.. Been at least 15+ years since I've stepped on the mat, but I did it anyways.  It's been 5 days now and my arm is still hurting.  Not sure if the abuse I took or the fact that my technique was so poor I injured myself.  Regardless, I thought I would post some of my pictures and video from the day. Oh yeah... managed to squeak out a gold! ...

Beard today... gone tomorrow

Finally shaved my beard.  Think I started in November and kept it till January sometime.  I trimmed it up a few times, but the hair on my chin was pretty true till the end. Man I needed a haircu...
