LOMAH - Land of Milk and Honey

Just living life here in the Promised Land, Southern Alberta. Where the Mountains meet the prairie in a stunning sunset, surrounded in fields of gold

Kayking - S Bend

An old picture, surfing the S Bend on the Red Deer River with Denali keeping a watchful eye. It was a perfect day, surrounded by perfect friends.

Family in Waterton

A summer hike with the family and Grandparents. It was a typical Waterton day with some wind and sun. Logan hiked the whole way in to Bertha Falls

Loves of my Life

The first two loves of my life together in one picture. I remember when they came into my life, making me whole.

Me in the Broken Group

I think this is my favourite picture from last year. We did a sea kayaking trip to the Broken Group and had 4 glorious days of sun. It was a capped off with the company of great friends.

Check out the Sweet Shirt!

I had to post this shirt. How could I not? Plus he was wearing his bib like a cape, which I'll have you know is totally gonna be the new fad this year. Capes, how could they not come back in? Personally I won't be happy unless they make them from Gore-tex and put secret pocket in them!
The cool thing about digital is that your not afraid to take a lot of pic's and you eventually catch some interesting shots!
This kid is gonna have some sweet moves when he hit's the dance floor! It's like a bit of John Travolta mixed in with Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!
I tell you. Some days he just melts your heart...

Logan's First Hike

Assuming that the crowds have come and gone, we took our chances and headed out to Waterton. The drive was nice and the weather was perfect too, but what about the wind? NO WIND! It must be a sign from the GODS! After a quick stop at Chris's Cabin (thanks!) and some shopping at the Tamarack Mall (You should see the sweet Jacket Dora got! Patagucci!) we headed for Crandall Lake.
Logan was great in the kid carrier (MEC Brand) and talked the whole way into Crandall. I guess he was communing with nature or something. The trail was busy in the beginning as we had a late start, but it cleared out quickly and by the time we got to the lake we got to enjoy it by ourselves.
We watched Denali swimming and running around the lake, had a quick snack and took a few pics. Logan was a happy boy and seemed to enjoy his time outside. Again I must say that Waterton is so much nicer without the wind!
After a few more pics we headed back down the trail. Logan fell asleep quickly and did his best not to snore. After we got down it was a quick drive to the Kilmorey for beer and nachos! I think I can get use to hiking with a baby!

The week late "May-Long"

Well it's a week late, but here is our update for May Long Weekend. Funny thing is we didn't leave Lethbridge. How boring is that? NOT! We had some surprize visitors! Diedre and Jen! Diedre caught a seat sale and flew into Calgary. Then they packed up in a car and drove south to the promised land!
It was just like "old times"! We hung out, talked the talk, watched babies?!? Well OK, maybe that last one is a stretch but we did check out the "hot babes" back in the day... well at least I did. Speaking of hot babes, check out these hot momma's!
Even Diedre embraced the diapers, screaming and food tossing. Really I think it's just like her house up North, except her roommates aren't as cute!
Logan shared his toys and didn't complain even once!
It's crazy how fast these kids grow up! I'm looking at Julia thinking it won't be long before I watch Logan drive up to Calgary to go snowboarding with his friend Julia. At least I hope their "Just Friends"!!

As for the rest of us, well... I believe it involved a bottle of Yukon Jack (Diedre and I) and a breakfast at Humpty's. Funny how some things never change ;)

Solids

Well we all knew this day would come. Solids. You know that baby food stuff that you're scared to eat yourself yet you have no problem shoving it down your kids throat. Food that comes in weird combinations like chicken & bananas or apricot & liver. I dunno, just weird. Anyways it's been going alright after a slow start and he is starting to embrace the solids. LITERALLY...

Well enough of me talking see for yourselves.
P.S. Dora plans on making some of her own baby food. Any ideas? Mine is wasabi & peas!

West Cost Posse

Well Rocco and Meg came back to the motherland to visit family and stopped in for a few soda's.

It was nice to catch up and see Rocco's new camera (see here for details). We've been keeping busy now that the weather is getting nice. Dora took everyone down to the park for a picnic and apparently a swing as well. Who knew you could get two kids into one swing?
I have managed to get out paddling the last couple of weekend. You can catch updates on the ORCKA blog site. Water is up here in Southern Alberta, so I'm enjoying the higher flows while they last.
