Land

I was trying to think of a witty title for this posting, but I don’t want one.  Plain and simple, Dora and I are land owners in Montana.  As of a week ago, we closed a deal on 3.5 Acres in Montana, just outside East Glacier.  For those of you who know me, I’ve been dreaming of this day for what seems like forever.  Civilization can be so draining and I often find rejuvenation in the great outdoors, like so many of you.  I wanted a place to take the boys, a place to grow good memories.

As I said, I’ve been looking for years and when this property came up we quickly jumped as it was in our price range.  After a few US hoops and a bit of cash we closed and made it official.  While there is not much on site now, you’re welcome to come back to LOMAH and we’ll take you for a visit.  Below are some shots we took of the property.IMG_0548 This shot is from the road.  There is power to the property, but they don’t plow the road in the winter, so access is restricted to a 10 min walk.  Anyone for New years here?  Shorter than a 16km ski in.

IMG_0551This is a shot up the property.  There is a bit of a grade that increases as you head further up the property.  Along the road it’s not so bad.  We are hoping to excavate and build an access road where Dora is standing, with the idea of building to the left, behind the large fir tree eventually.

IMG_0580From the highway, you can see the hill that the property sits on.    It’s easy access, but far enough off the highway that you feel like your in the mountains.  We timed it and it takes 2hr from our house to the property, so we’re pretty excited that we’ll take advantage of the proximity during the shoulder seasons and winter.

As you can see, we’re happy with our decision so far…. we’ll keep you up to date on the excavation and road building this spring/summer.

Look how cute you are. That face is why I married you.

Ahhh, a big congrats you two!! Do the rightful property owners allow occasional visits from other family members? :-) Love the smiling faces!

Yippee. We finally have a friend with his own recreation property!!! Bring on the Yert.

ps: can you see Waldo (Evan) in the picture?
